The Study on Unmarried Women Over the Age of 30, Regarding the Value of Marriage and Children and the Knowledge of High Risk Pregnancy

Abstract
Objectives
This aim of study was to investigate the value of marriage, children and knowledgeon high risk pregnancy of single women over the age of 30.
Method
The data were collected from 190 unmarried women in 3 cities and 3 guns located inG-do.
Results
The value on marriage of the subjects were in order of equal division of family roles was3.95, marriage postponement 3.47, traditional value on marriage 2.82, and open value on marriage2.30. The general characteristics that showed significant differences in traditional value on marriagewere ages, marriage plans, and child plans. Significant differences in marriage postponement werefound in marriage life of parents, marriage plans and child plans. Significant differences in openvalue on marriage were found in marriage life of parents, marriage plans, child plans, and residentialarea. The value on children of the subjects were in the order of childbirth postponement 2.65,need for children 2.49, and acceptance of children in non-marriage 2.13. General characteristicsthat showed significant differences in the need for children were age, birth order, marital statusof parents, marriage life of parents, marriage plans, child plans. Significant differences in childbirthpostponement were found in age, education, occupation, income, number of family, marital statusof parents, marriage life of parents, marriage plans, child plans. As for the subjects' knowledge onhigh risk pregnancy, the percentage of correct answers was 55.5%.
Conclusion
Through these results, in the family, the parents should become the role model forthe children, and social atmosphere possible of equal division of family roles and a change in perceptionof the men are required. It is recommended that to develop nursing education for improvinghigh risk pregnancy knowledge in unmarried women.
