A Comparative Study on Acceptance and Maintain Behavior of Pregnancy between Natural Pregnant and Infertility Treated Women

Abstract
Objectives
These days infertility rate is increasing by various causes. Also infertility treated women are increasing by advances in medical technology. Anyway pregnancy is very important event for woman and her family. The purpose of this study was to compare acceptance and maintain behavior of pregnancy between natural pregnant and infertility treated women.
Methods
56 natural and 40 infertility treated women from the hospital located in Busan were included from January 3rd to December 10th 2007. It was collected using a structured questionnaires. The tools of acceptance pregnancy were intention and acceptance of pregnancy, self-esteem and stress of pregnant women. The tools of maintain behavior pregnancy were fetus attachment behavior, Taegyo exhortation, Taegyo taboo and prenatal examination. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson correlation by SPSS 12.0 program.
Results
In the general characteristics, the infertility treated women's age, monthly income, marriage duration, and pregnant experience were higher than natural. In the acceptance and maintain behavior of pregnancy, there were signigicant difference between two groups. The infertility treated women's intention of pregnancy and prenatal examination were higher than natural. Each variables had significantly correlation. The higher intention of pregnancy and pregnant women's self-esteem, the higher fetus attachment behavior.
Conclusions
It is necessary to develop a strategy or promoting program for promotion of self-esteem, fetus attachment, Taegyo pratice, and prenatal examination for pregnant women. Thus it is essential to provide an healthy delivery and healthy baby.
